MOSCOW, Jan 26 (PRIME) -- United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) plans to produce at least 12 Il-114 planes per year at the aircraft plant in the Moscow Region’s city of Lukhovitsy owned by aircraft corporation MiG, UAC President Yury Slyusar told reporters on Thursday.
Earlier on Thursday, President Vladimir Putin said that MiG plans to produce a mid-ranged civil plane for internal airlines. “One of MiG’s facilities plans to produce a civil plane, which is in high demand in the national economy, by our people. I mean a mid-ranged turboprop plane that will be used by internal airlines,” he said, adding that the government has already found sources of financing for the project.
Slyusar said that production of Il-114 planes will be done simultaneously with MiG-35 jet fighters. “Here, at the same facility where MiG-35s will be assembled, we will simultaneously produce no less than 12 Il-114 planes per year,” he said.
Production of Il-114 will allow MiG to balance the order portfolio and increase the share of civil planes produced by the corporation to 45% by 2025, he said.
